I feel so privileged to be part of a community of amazing artists and friends. My inspiration comes from many sources: artists who traveled their journeys long ago, family, wonderful models I have the privilege to work with, and remembered patterns and colours from my childhood in Africa. My art is always evolving, as it is important to me to keep stretching myself and exploring different aspects of visual expression.

Anne Jarvis Artist's Biography

• 1978 - Graduated from Westville Girl's High School, South Africa
• 1982 - Graduated from Edgewood Teacher's Training College, South Africa
• 1983-1994 - Immigrated to Canada with my husband and raised three children.
• 1994-2004 - Taught grade 8-12 Art at Duncan Christian School, Duncan, B.C. During this time I also took various art courses offered through Malaspina University College, Victoria College of Art and Vancouver Island School of Art.
• 2002 - Accepted as an Active member of the FCA and an Associate member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists.
